Since 2000, Nathan Kensinger has been exploring derelict spaces in New York City, from half-destroyed neighborhoods to empty airports to abandoned hospitals, and photographing them. His photo essays have been exhibited at museums and galleries around the city, and have been published in THE NEW YORK TIMES and other publications.

“These spaces contain hidden beauty, unwritten histories and artifacts that are overlooked by society,” writes Kensinger. “My work documents what was left behind, and what will soon vanish from New York’s constantly changing landscape.”
