HOW I LIVE NOW (2013), based on the novel by Meg Rosoff, tells the story of Daisy, an American teenager sent to stay with relatives in the English countryside, where she falls in love with a local named Edmund. Her idyllic summer is shattered as an escalating conflict in Europe spills over into the UK, reducing the country to a chaotic war zone.
The film was released in the UK in 2013, but I haven’t heard anything about its availability in North America. It appears to be YA, but it looks interesting. Check out the trailer here:
