When Susan and Alex Wendt find their dream apartment in New York, they couldn’t be happier–until Susan finds a bedbug. Soon, every morning she wakes up with bites, and it’s driving her mad. Only the rest of her family can’t see them, and the exterminator found nothing. Is she going insane? Soon, a more sinister explanation presents itself.
This is the plot of BEDBUGS by Ben H. Winters, a horror novel by Ben H. Winters. The first half of the novel was a bit slow, in my opinion, even after the bedbugs first showed themselves, as the tension builds but frequently diffuses. I found the third act gripping, however, as everything comes to a head. If you didn’t start the book with a sincere loathing of bugs, the third act of BEDBUGS will surely give you one.
