Beautiful apocalyptic directorial debut from Luc Besson, who went on to direct THE FIFTH ELEMENT. It’s French (the title means, “The Last Battle”), but with no dialogue. The film tells the story of the Man, dying of loneliness and living at the fringe of a group of his former office coworkers, who builds a flying machine that takes him to a big city. Instead of finding people, he meets a giant killer who hunts him ruthlessly. Highly recommended.
In this scene, we see the Captain wielding his power over the office workers by controlling their water supply. At the end of the scene, we see the Man watching them through a pair of binoculars, planning to steal a car battery from them for his flying machine:
This is a classic of the genre. Great photography and practical FX.
Here’s a review I wrote on it about 3 years ago:

One of Jean Reno’s best performances, imo.
One of my favourite films.

@Craig – What do you say? Is Jean Reno’s performance in this better than in The Professional?
