Just started watching THE TUNNEL, an Australian film available free on YouTube. It’s 2007, during a drought, and the government had renounced its plans to tap into and recycle millions of gallons of water trapped in abandoned train tunnels under downtown Sydney. A journalist wants to know why, and leads a TV crew under the surface. They find that what they’re hunting is actually hunting them. The film is well produced, combining the mockumentary and found-footage formats, which works well, although it signals who survives because we see them interviewed after the fact, eliminating some suspense. I’m liking it so far. I hope you’ll tell me what you think.
