In THERE WILL COME SOFT RAINS, a beautiful animated short by Peter Cotter based on the short story by Ray Bradbury, an automated house cheerfully goes about its daily chores, unaware that the family it cares for is no longer there.

I was not happy with the way the artist depicted the shadow scene. And while I understand this was more than likely a low-budget animation, I was a little unimpressed with the lack of detail — including the electronic mice, the dog, and the fire. Especially the dog; that was supposed to be one of the most tantalizing parts of Ray Bradbury’s piece.
