NAVY SEALS VS. ZOMBIES looks like it’s got all kinds of military-killing-zombies goodness. Here’s the synopsis:
After losing all contact with the Vice President during a routine campaign stop in Louisiana, the U.S. Government sends in a team of Navy SEALs for the rescue. Dropped into a warzone, the SEALs quickly discover that they aren’t dealing with a normal enemy. The city is under siege by hordes of fast moving, flesh eating undead. The infection is spreading and urban warfare has been unleashed. With no cure in sight and time running out, the elite unit has to survive their most horrific mission of all.
Looks great, though the soldiers seem to be more the earnest, good-hearted, salt-of-the-earth cardboard cutouts in BLACKHAWK DOWN than the realistic killers in ZERO DARK THIRTY. I’ll be checking this one out for sure.
Trailer:
Just in the trailer alone there are so many technical errors that this movie looks to be a comedy. Consider this, they’re trying to talk in an open helo with no comms, no goggles on, no MICH, and yet they’re not eating FOD and just yelling like they can be heard.
Once they hit the ground, it just goes downhill from there. There are shots of primary hands coming off weapons, reloading fumbles, and just plain lack of skills that one would not expect from elite SEALs. This is nothing but cardboard cut out cliched characters that attempt to be the tough guy badass from any number of generic action films. With the poor level of technical procedures and general face palm actions with lots of wtf added, I half expected to see Oliver Gruner as part of the cast.
This is just a sad, sad film that appears to be a waste of funds that could have been spent on something far better. Too much like something that Asylum Productions (Z-Nation) or ScyFi Channel would make.
