In LOVELY MOLLY (2011), newlyweds Molly and Tim move into Molly’s childhood home. Soon after, a haunting begins, which turns into possession.
Added to this is the fact Molly is a heroin addict. As the haunting worsens, she returns to the drug, calling into question how much of what is happening is in her head.
I thought it was a good film. The tension is unbelievable, and it doesn’t rely on gotcha jump scares. It’s also kind of confusing, though the ending delivers most of the pieces of the puzzle.
For me, this is a solid story of a demon and demonic possession, and people coping with the possessed but unable to see it as a possession.
