Its The End Of The World: Compete Or Cooperate?

New research into human biology has debunked the LORD OF THE FLIES view of humans as aggressive competitors, ready to start killing each other the second the thin veneer of civilization is removed, in favor of a view of people being essentially cooperative. People and higher animals alike, it seems, have an innate moral sense or conscience along with empathy (independent of religious views), which heightens cooperation and therefore chances of reproduction. This supports my belief that in a zombie apocalypse scenario, people would not automatically start fighting each other as well as the zombies. While fear and hysteria may make cooperation difficult or impossible among some people, and if there are very limited resources competition would be inevitable, cooperation will still offer the best odds of survival and be sought out as a first option, with groups building around strong, effective leaders who earn their trust.
