In HOMECOMING, the politically charged MASTERS OF HORROR episode set during the Bush years, a Republican operative says to a grieving mother of a dead soldier, that his only wish was that her son could come home, so he could tell her that he died for a good cause in an overseas oil war. His wish comes true as all of the dead soldiers come back, demanding voting rights so they can end the war.

Now, I did’t care for this episode one bit. I reviewed it for The G.O.R.E. Score (it’s included in Vol. 2 of the book series), and I felt like director Joe Dante really didn’t even care about the zombies; he was just using them as a backdrop to shove his political opinions down the viewers’ throats. It just felt like a cheap way to get zombie fans to watch his 60-minute anti-Bush rant. But that’s just my humble opinion. 🙂
