Just got back from New York, where I had a terrific meeting with my editor at Simon & Schuster, Ed Schlesinger, to talk about the editing and roll-out for SUFFER THE CHILDREN. The novel’s publication date has been pushed to May 2014 for more advantageous positioning. I also received the cover design, shown here, and it looks great.
SUFFER THE CHILDREN Scheduled For March 25, 2014
I’m very happy to announce my next horror novel, SUFFER THE CHILDREN, will be released by Simon & Schuster on March 25, 2014.
CORRECTION: The new release date is May 2014!
Here’s a quick synopsis:
TOO MANY MOUTHS TO FEED.
One day, everywhere around the world, the children die.
Three days later, they return from the grave.
And ask for blood.
With blood, they stop being dead. They stop rotting. They laugh and play. They become the children they once were.
But only for a short time. An hour, maybe two. Too soon, they die again.
And need more blood to live …
The average body holds ten pints of blood.
How far would you go for your child?
The novel explores the idea that love can make people monsters. It’s not so much an emotional roller coaster as an emotional vise that keeps squeezing. The early reviews from authors I invited to pre-read the work are awesome. Peter Clines, author of EX-HEROES, called it the most disturbing book he’s ever read.
My Deal With Simon & Schuster
I am proud to announce today that I have signed a deal with Simon & Schuster for publication of my new horror novel, SUFFER THE CHILDREN.
Here’s the synopsis:

The novel explores the idea that love can make people monsters. It’s not so much an emotional roller coaster as an emotional vise that keeps squeezing.
The novel will be published as part of Simon & Schuster’s co-publishing deal with Permuted Press, a company I’m obviously already familiar with. The deal was agented by The Agency Group.
No firm publication date yet, but I’m hoping by the end of the fall. However, it could be 2014. I hope to have more information soon.
Thanks for supporting my work! That support made this deal possible!
