In this short film, two soldiers wander a polluted wasteland, still fighting a war that now seems entirely pointless.

I am happy to announce that I have just turned in the manuscript for THE KILLING FLOOR, the sequel to THE INFECTION, to Permuted Press, which intends to publish it in early 2012. It builds on the story of THE INFECTION while addressing themes of responsibility during an apocalyptic event. During such an event, do we owe each other anything? Do we owe humanity? Here’s the synopsis:
The mystery disease struck down millions. Three days later, its victims awoke with a single violent purpose: spread the Infection. As the world lurched toward the apocalypse, some of the Infected continued to change, transforming into horrific monsters.
America’s far-flung military has returned home to wage a horrific war against its own country, engaged in a fierce battle to retake Washington, DC. Two hundred miles away, Ray Young, survivor of a fight to save a refugee camp from hordes of Infected fleeing the burning ruins of Pittsburgh, awakes from a coma to learn he has also survived Infection. But this is no miracle. Ray is not immune. Instead, he has become transformed into a superweapon that could end the world. Or save it.
In The Killing Floor, Craig DiLouie’s chilling apocalyptic vision portrayed in The Infection continues, presenting a nightmarish struggle for survival like no other.
In EATERS, two zombie hunters venture out into an insane post-apocalyptic world to round up zombies to bring to a scientist working on a cure. The zombies are scary but rarely show up in numbers, most of the sets are dilapidated factories, and the cause of the plague is a little confusing. Overall, though, it works. The main characters are fun, the film packs punch, and it ends on a hopeful note. Recommended.
Great looking, if bizarre, short film about two Russian guys trying to kill each other in post-apocalyptic ruins. It is almost like a cartoon. You might get a kick out of it.
In A HOLE IN THE PLACE OF HEART, a remarkable short animated film using a sand table as the medium, the violence of individuals combines to birth a horrible collective monster, triggering the end of the world.
In BEYOND BLACK MESA, a film short inspired by the HALF-LIFE video game series, a band of resistance fighters struggle to survive against an invading army of soldiers and zombies. The special effects are surprisingly good for an indie short film on a $1200 budget. Check it out below.

In ANTIBODY, a brilliant short film, scientists struggle to find a cure while a horrifying zombie plague devastates the human race. After being bitten, a woman wakes to find herself infected and in a cage–and, possibly, our only hope for a cure. But time is running out … This is a fantastic short film, highly recommended.
