In this deleted scene from 28 DAYS LATER, Jim and Selena search an abandoned train that was used by the Red Cross to treat victims of the Rage epidemic.

There are other deleted scenes available on YouTube, but none of them struck me as particularly interesting. If you’re interested in seeing them, look them up on YouTube.

THE WAR GAME (1965) is Peter Watkins’ Academy Award-winning classic mockumentary about a nuclear war between the Soviet Union and America and its allies. Because of its graphic depiction of the consequences of nuclear war, the BBC suppressed it until 1985. Scary as hell and highly recommended.

The Emergency Alert System, or EAS, is a national warning system that replaced the Emergency Broadcast System in 1997. In addition to covering local and national emergencies, EAS allows the President to take over the entire nation’s broadcasting infrastructure and speak to the country within minutes of a disaster occurring. During an apocalyptic event such as a global zombie outbreak, the authorities would use the EAS to both inform and try to calm the public. Here are some interesting fictional EAS alerts.

Here’s the EAS message displayed in the bar TV in the show JERICHO:

And here are a few more TV commercials featuring zombies. Thanks to Valerie Martin Almaraz for pointing this one out:

Here’s a Japanese commercial for Pocky:

A submittal to a Klondike commercial contest:

And as a bonus, here’s a funny horror-themed commercial for Woollite by none of other than Rob Zombie:

Funny commercial for Snickers candy featuring a zombie. It’s in Spanish, but you’ll get the idea:

Snickers ran a video contest. Below is the sixth-place winner, also featuring zombies. I thought it was pretty good (as far as commercials go).

While on the subject of commercials, here’s the Pepsi zombie da-da-da commercial that made absolutely no sense to me, but here goes:

And here’s one for Starburst, featuring a zombie, that was mildly amusing:

Another funny commercial, this one from Dodge, and this time with an apocalyptic theme.

Funny zombie commercial further justifying the zombie fighter’s proverb: Always look behind you.
